- [Instructor] For this week's tip we're going to be working and learning about the Scan to 3D surface wizard. Now if you're not familiar with this tool, it's been in Scan to 3D for awhile, and Scan to 3D is an add in for Solidworks. So if you don't have it already added in, make sure you do add that in, under Tools, add ins. But right now let's go ahead and just create a surface, or these surfaces from this body here. So I've opened up this file here by going under File, Open, and then choosing the Scan to 3D add in. So now it's here. And I can come up here under Tools and come over here to Scan to 3D. So if you open a file without bringing it in as a direct Scan to 3D file it will not work. So you have to go under File, Open, and then Select the Scan to 3D file format.
