Setting up a local coordinate system

- [Instructor] A local coordinate system is required at the center of the little end. This is a cylindrical coordinate system, which will be used to define the bearing loading. I have the same SolidWorks model opened as before. Click at the Model tab at the bottom of the screen here to open up the geometry feature tree. In the Features tab, choose Reference Geometry and select Coordinate System. The basic coordinate system of the model is already positioned at the center of the little end, so we can just use this coordinate system in the selections window of the coordinate system form. Open out the Feature tree in the graphics window and click on the Origin. The first dialogue box is now populated with .1 at origin. Luckily, the X, Y, and zed axis directions we want are aligned correctly with the basic coordinate system. So click the checkbox on the form, and the new coordinate system is created at the center of the little end. Rename the checkbox in the form and type in little end…
