- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to take a look at Design Studies. And before we get started, let's take a look at setting up our interface of SolidWorks. What we want to make sure is under the Annotations, in this left menu, we want to right click and we can go ahead and say Display Annotations. This is important because we want to go ahead and see the dimensions that we're going to select that we want to go ahead and modify and use as variables. The design study itself is located on the bottom in these tabs, and if I right click, I can say Create a New Design Study. Most of our time is going to be spent under this Design Study tab. And for the first step, we want to go ahead and make sure our optimization is turned off. Depending on the software you're using, if simulation is turned on, you will have an option for optimization. In Design Study we have variables, constraints, and goals.
