Simplifying a huge mesh in MeshLab

- [Instructor] For this week's tip, I'm going to be showing you how to reduce the file size of an imported mesh model using MeshLab. And this is a first step prior to bringing this into Solidworks. Now, in my last Tips and Tricks, I showed you a little bit how to open a file and just what MeshLab really was, now let's go ahead and actually use it to reduce the size of this file. So over here you can see I have got vertices and faces of this file here and I'm going to show you-- We can just come over here to Filters and I've got a whole bunch of different tools I can do, but one of 'em, which is pretty simple and straightforward, is you can say Compact or Merge Close Vertices. So what that's going to do it's going to look at your model and say hey, what are things that are close by to each other and I can combine some of these vertices, especially if you've got like millions of points, into fewer vertices.
