- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to be looking at the slot command. Now the slot command basically takes an end mill or a similar type of tool and goes back and forth to create a slot as it's plunging into the material. Let me show you how that works. Up here under 2D milling, click on that one there. Click on slot. As far as the tools, go over and choose this quarter inch end mill, which is tool number 12. Click on select and right over here, I'm going to choose the geometry. So my first piece of geometry I want to choose is the bottom of this slot that I created inside of SOLIDWORKS. Now the slot I created in SOLIDWORKS happens to be .8 inches wide. Now I'm only using a quarter inch tool. Now that quarter inch tool is not going to create a pocket. It's not going to go anything in width at all, it's only going to go back and forth. So even though I have a .8 wide slot in SOLIDWORKS, I'm only going to get a quarter inch wide slot when I create this feature. Once I have the…
