- [Instructor] One of the fundamental skills for working with surfaces is the ability to create splines 'cause splines are most of the time what we're going to be using to drive freeform surfaces. So right over here on the screen you can see I've got a side view of a mouse, and in the exam you're probably going to be given either a picture that you're going to need to create some sketches with lines on top of or they're going to give you actual lines already which you're going to have to use to create some type of a surface. So right over here is an example of how we're going to create some splines that go around the perimeter of this shape. So if you don't know how to bring in a sketch picture, it's pretty straightforward and easy. All you need to do is choose a face. So I'm going to choose the front plane in this case.
