- [Instructor] Another advanced line tool that we can take advantage of, is the spline on surface tool. This gives us the ability to directly sketch our spline right on a surface. So if we go to tools, down to sketch entities, and select spline on surface. That's going to start a new 3D sketch and if we select this surface with the first click, we can just simply start drawing. And I'm creating a spline on this surface. Hit escape, now as you can see, that follows along that whole body there. Even up this steep incline. Now you saw as I tried to bring it up farther, it had a little bit of trouble flowing over that. But this is creating very complex geometry, so we have to play around and see what the limits are. When I'm done with that I'm going to go ahead and select OK and I've got my spline on the sketch. If I want to I could take that, and create a split line using that 3D sketch. You can see here how it takes the tangent edges and pulls it out. And now I've split my surface…
