Split Entities

- [Instructor] The split entities feature can be very similar to using the segment feature that we talk about earlier in this course, but it doesn't give you the ability to do it evenly. It's more of a free-hand segmenting of lines. So let's show you what I mean. If I hover over split entity it says, splits a sketch entity into two entities by adding a split point. So it's literally just splitting it at the point that you select. I'm going to go ahead and choose this. And if you hover over the line that you want to split, you just select it and it puts a point in. And it's literally splitting this line as I go. I can do it on any line anywhere. I'm just dropping points and it's splitting all of these lines. Now this one notices a relation I'm going to just override that and continue. You notice here there's no accept. There's just close the feature because it's accepting as I go and just splitting every time I click on something. Go ahead and hit close. And now you can see I've got all of those sketch entities split up all over the place, little entities all over. I can drag them. I can move the point. But as you can see it's going to be affected by the relations that I have in my sketch. So that's the split entities feature. Pretty handy if you want to split up any kind of sketch entities very fast on the fly using freehand.
