Split the controller into two halves
- [Instructor] In the previous chapter, we created the basic controller shape, and we shelled this out so we could fit the circuit board and other items inside. If you're starting this video from scratch, then the exercise files to use are the ending state of the previous chapter, Chapter Two. So unzip the Chapter Two files and open the latest part, which is 02_07_Hollow Out the Model using the Shell Feature.SLDPRT. But at the moment, we've just got one single part. It is hollow, but it's just one single outer shell, so we can't actually open it to fit those other parts inside. And to fix this, we're going to split this part into two new halves using the Split feature. To use this feature, first, we need to draw a sketch with a split line, and this tells us exactly where SolidWorks should cut the part.
