Starting an assembly
- To start an assembly inside of SOLIDWORKS the first thing I need to do is open the individual parts that I'm going to build the assembly from. I already have part number 11.1.1 open, I need to open three more parts. To do that, I'm going to go up here to the window at the top, Open, and you can see here I'm in CH 11, 11.1, and I already have this first part open here, but if I click on this one here, and hold down Shift and the last one, I can open all three parts at the exact same time. It's going to then cascade the windows, if I want to click on Tile Horizontally, I can then see all the parts at one time. An alternatize way to bring those parts in, if you click over here on the right, on the File Explorer, you can see I can also come over here, and click on the parts that are open in SOLIDWORKS, or I can browse on to my Desktop, Exercise Files, Ch 11, and there they all are, I can just drag and drop them in as needed.
