- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to be looking at setting up the stock for our machining operation. Now, a lot of times, stock set-up is overlooked when you're learning how to program a part. People will a lot of times use the default stock set-up, which is included with HSM, but I really recommend actually creating a block which will really be your stock, so you can really think through how this component will be held, or the stock will be held when you're going to machine it, and you can actually see what's going to happen. So let me show you a pretty easy way to do that. The first thing I want to do is take a look at the size of the piece of material that I'm going to be working with. So I'm going to go over here and click on the measure tool, that is in the tools toolbar, which I do have turned on, and pushed over here to the right-hand side of my screen.
