Surface Wizard

- [Instructor] Depending on how large your mesh is or how complex your geometry is, you might be able to use the surface wizard to convert your mesh into a surface body or collection of surface bodies that SolidWorks can then use to drive other features or create solid geometry. Let's take a look at what we can do with this mesh setup that I brought in. I'm going to go up to Tools, Scan to 3D, and go to Surface Wizard. I'm going to pick the mesh. Notice the number of faces. Click next. Now you could do a guided creation or an automatic creation. I'm going to go with automatic for this one. So let's go ahead and go next. Now you'll notice here that we get to adjust the surface detail. So I'm going to turn this all the way up and then see if I can get a preview. Alright, now I'm given a preview showing where I have errors in the surfaces that it's trying to make. I've got a number of surfaces of 11,643. That's a lot. This is a high number of detail. That might be too much in fact. So…
