Surface tools
- [Narrator] The purpose of this video is to introduce to you the surface tools inside of Solidworks. Now we have a separate course on surfaces themselves, that's going to get into a lot more detail, but in this video, my goal is just to introduce some of the basic tools, so you're familiar with what they are. The first tool I'm going to show you is the extrude surface. All we really need to do here is click on a sketch, something like this one, or like this one here, and then click on extruded feature. Now extrude is very similar to a regular extrude. It just takes a sketch and drags it out in one direction. The only difference is you don't need to have any volume to it, right. It can just be a flat surface that's infinitely thin. Define the length, the direction, and so on, and there is your extrude surface.
