Trace
- [Instructor] The trace toolpath allows me to take a tool and follow a path in both X, Y and Z. Let me show you how it works. First thing I want to do is go under 2D milling and come down here to the very bottom one called trace. In the library, and I've already added this tool, which is going to be tool number six, which is right here. It's a quarter inch by 60 degree spot drill, or an engraving type of tool. If you don't have that, you can quickly add it just by clicking on new tool or selecting it through the library. Alright, go ahead and select that tool. Let's go ahead and just use the default values over here, even though we probably need to change those. Come over here to the contours. I'm going to go ahead and choose this bottom surface of this H, and notice automatically it selects all those individual lines, which is great. Over here, under the heights, I can make a few modifications if I'd like to, as far as the absolute, but right now, let's just say we're going to base…
