Troubleshooting broken references
- [Instructor] When troubleshooting file references in SOLIDWORKS, what you really gonna wanna do is combine all the techniques we've talked about up until now, and just file them down one by one until you find your specific issues. So if when opening a file you have a problem, you know, go to the References area and edit references and make sure that your assembly, for example, is pointing to all the right files and all the right folders. And if you see something missing here, or lacking, you can go in and fix it manually. Once you have an assembly open, remember to go to List External References, or when you're in a part, same thing. Go down to List External References here. Find out what references are in your part, are in your sketches. Typically when you're dealing with a file reference you're trying to fix a sketch that lost a relation or you're trying to fix an assembly that lost a part that it was looking for.
