Truss model: 3D geometry results

- [Instructor] This video shows you how to interrogate results from an FE analysis when you're using truss elements. It continues on from the previous video which describes how to set up the truss model. So we click Run The Study, and we see the results here. There's two default results types, Stress1, which has STRMAX, which is the Upper Bound axial and bending stresses combined, and Displacement1, which has the results in Displacement. Now neither of these are quite what we want. Right mouse click on Stress1, Edit Definition, change the Display to Axial stress, make sure it's set on psi, check the Pin icon so it can keep cycling through this. Check Okay. We see the axial stress is now plotted. Check the Render beam profile, click Okay, and now we see a representation of the cross section of the truss. Click off the deformed shape, check Okay, and we can uncheck the Pin and check Okay. So under Plot Tools, check Probe, and pick the two trusses in turn. Can switch off the X,Y,Z…
