Turning parts transparent
- [Instructor] So in addition to turning parts invisible, we can also make parts transparent, so you can see through them. And sometimes that is a better effect than making parts disappear completely. Think in terms of a script. You wanna start with the part opaque, select a time when you want the part to become transparent, right-click on the appearance under the part to become transparent, and select Appearance, toggle Advanced, go to Illumination, set the desired amount of transparency. So you can set the transparent amount from zero to 100. 100% is completely invisible, 80% is similar to a plastic or glass screen. Then calculate to compile the animation and then run the animation. So you can control how transparent your part is and get different effects that way. So let's look at how that would work. You also wanna consider whether you want the transparency to be a slow fade or a quick change. If you want it to be a slow fade, have two key points, one with 0% transparency and one…
