Use the Extrude and Extrude Cut features

- [Instructor] The extrude and the extruded cut inside of SolidWorks are the two main building blocks for creating most features. You'll probably see extrude used, probably five to 10 times more than you'll see any other feature used inside of SolidWorks. So this is the real meat and potatoes of creating things inside of SolidWorks. So to get started, we've already looked at choosing a face or plane to get started. I'm going to go ahead and choose something like the front plane and go ahead and start a brand new sketch right on that front plane. And let's go ahead and create a sketch. Now we've already learned a little bit about sketching and we touched a few of these tools here. So let's go ahead and just choose a basic rectangle. I'm going to choose the origin. Click on the origin, drag out a rectangle, and there it is. So to create a basic feature, all we have to do is create a sketch. That's it. We already have a…
