Using the Mirror tools

- The mirror command inside of SOLIDWORKS allows us to take one sketch entity or multiple sketch entities, and just mirror it over a center line. To do so, I have this sketch entity here I want to mirror over one of these lines. If you click on the Mirror command up here at the top, notice I've got these already selected in this box. If you didn't, you can just go ahead and select them now. And this tool is pretty self-explanatory. You pick which entities you want to mirror and you choose what you want to mirror about. In this case here, I'm going to choose this. Click on OK, and quickly it mirrors it directly over there. If I happen to move this shape, it still mirrors it over it. Adjusts on-the-fly based upon being mirrored. Same thing over here. Select an entity or not, I can select it afterwards. Choose to mirror about this line here, it drops it down here, click OK, and there it is. Now I can move this one around and it moves it both on this side, as well as on that side of the mirror. And one more time for good luck, select Mirror Entities. This time I'm going to choose both this one here, and this one here, and my mirror about is going to be this line right here, and then click OK. Now moving this one here, move just about everything. So it's pretty cool, you have one driving shape and it's mirrored in a bunch of directions over a bunch of different center lines and it all can work together. That's the Mirror command.
