Using the Rectangle tool
- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to be taking a look at ways for creating rectangles. Now a basic rectangle is really just four regular lines with some relationships automatically added in. And I can go ahead and create a rectangle by using the line command if I'd like to, but SOLIDWORKS does a lot of the work for us using this rectangle command. Now notice I have several different ways to create a rectangle. One I have is the corner rectangle. One is the midpoint corner rectangle. I've got a three point corner rectangle, and I even have a parallelogram. So a whole bunch different options. The first one is the corner rectangle. Very straightforward and simple. Click where you want to start one corner, and click again where you want to stop that other corner. Notice it defines this using four regular lines and four relationships. So this line here is vertical, vertical, horizontal and horizontal. And that is how SOLIDWORKS creates that shape. Now I can click on the lines…
