Using the Spline tool - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial
From the course: SOLIDWORKS 2016 Essential Training
Using the Spline tool
- The Spline tool allows us to create smooth sweeping curves for our designs. If I start a brand new sketch, I can jump up here and grab the Spline tool and start it on the front plane. And notice I have three different Spline tools, the Spline, the Style Spline and Equation Driven Curve. Starting with the regular spline, I'm going to start with a couple of different points. So my first point and then my second point is what I want to rotate around and notice as soon as I do that, it has this little bendable line that's going to go through that point and then as I continue on, I can continue adding points to my spline to create the shape. When I'm done, hit Escape and it'll turn that tool off and now you can see you've got a nice smooth sweeping curve through these different points. Now I can grab the different end points and adjust things here and notice as soon as I click on the spline, I get these little direction vectors here, all over that spline and I can grab each one of those…
