Using design tables

- [Instructor] SolidWorks gives us the ability to have Microsoft Excel drive the dimensions inside of a part, and we call that a design table. So, to get started with the design table, the first thing I need to do is, come up here, and insert a design table into my part. So, come to insert, come down here to tables, and go over here to design table. Click there, now, we can go ahead and just use the auto create function, which works just fine, click on okay. And right away, SolidWorks is going to open up Excel. And as you can see, the top of my screen is actually Microsoft Excel's, not SolidWorks. And we're in the Microsoft environment now, so, now it's giving me an option of what of these dimensions, would I like to bring into this table. You can bring them all in, or you can just choose one of them. So, you can see here, D1 had Sketch1, D2 had Sketch2. They're not very descriptive, right. We don't really know what's going on here.
