- [Narrator] In this video, I want to talk about 3D Interconnect. Now, your version of SolidWorks might be using 3D Interconnect already, and you might not know it, and you might not understand what's happening behind the scenes. So let me show you what I have here as an example. So, right over here is a sample file. Notice it's a STEP file, and this works for STEP files, IGES files, pretty much any type of dumb solid as well as other CAD systems, like Pro E, Creo, Inventor, pretty much anything else out there that SolidWorks can work with. 3D Interconnect is generally going to try to take those files and be able to bring them into an assembly, and leave them in their native state. That's pretty cool, but it can also cause some problems. So go ahead and click over here. It's going to be creating the model. I'm going to go ahead and choose a linked in part template, and my linked in assembly. One more. Alright. So here is an example of a part. And notice right over here, this little…
