Using surfaces to build solid models
- [Instructor] We can use surfaces to help us doing solid part modeling. Now in this example here, you can see I got this extruded surface here, and I have a swept surface here. And that's what I'd like the top of my part to kind of look like, so this is kind of a free form shape, and that could be really anything. But this example, I'm going to have this as the top of my part. Now, down here I've created a plane number two, which is directly below this part here. And, on that plane there, I'm going to click on make a sketch, and let's go ahead and choose a center point rectangle. Let's just draw out a rectangle. Doesn't really matter exactly the size. But one of the key important points though, is we have to make sure that the surface here completely drapes over the top of the rectangle shape. So, we do need to make sure that that happens. Once you have that, go ahead and click on exit sketch, so now you can see what's going to happen. We have this shape here. We're going to extrude…
