What you should know

- [Instructor] So, before we get started I wanted to go over what you should know before you even dive into making animations. I want to make sure you review your knowledge of SolidWorks and your skill set so that you don't get frustrated. First, you should be familiar with assemblies and assembly mates. If you don't know how to create an assembly or manage assembly mates, it's gonna be very difficult for you to figure out how to animate how an assembly moves or how to modify an existing mate. The other thing you should know is how to create an exploded view. Exploded views are created inside assemblies in the configuration manager. If you have never created an exploded view it's going to be really difficult for you to automate some of your animations. The other thing you wanna know is how to save and name views. The reason this is important is because most people who create animations wanna be able to zoom in and out, create close-ups, position, pose their product and if you don't know how to save and name a view, you're not gonna be able to use that feature in the animations and you won't feel really good because your product's just kinda gonna lay there like a dead fish in front of you and it's not gonna move around or do anything for you. Those are the things you're gonna need to know before you get started. If you don't know about something, please do a search in the library for any of these topics that you feel like you're weak in or need help in before you move forward. Otherwise, you're not going to get your best bang and benefit out of this class.
