Windows visual and virtual memory settings
- [Narrator] Now that we've optimized the hardware in our Windows workstation, it's time to go on and adjust the Windows visual and virtual memory settings to adjust for the best performance as well. We start by going down the file explorer, right-clicking on this PC, and going to properties. From here, we click the advanced system settings and here you see in advanced, the first setting to come up is performance. Let's click on this. For visual effects, we see right now we have it set up to let Windows choose what's best for my computer. If we really want the best performance, we're going to have to change this to adjust for best performance. When you're done with that, you just click OK and go back. I'm going to click cancel because I want to keep the settings I currently have. Now, if we want to adjust our virtual memory as well, we go back in, go to advanced, down the virtual memory, we're going to change this. Right now, it's set up to automatically manage it.
