Working with subassemblies
- Once you have a assembly, I can then create an assembly of an assembly, or make what's called a subassembly. So to do so, I'm going to go up to File, And Make Assembly From Assembly. Once I do that, I have the ability to choose the open assembly that I already have, or I can browse to find another one, and then click on OK. That brings that assembly into this new assembly, and now I have the ability to add more parts, or other assemblies. I'm going to click on Tile Horizontally. And you can see, here's my original assembly here, and here's my new top-level assembly. And then I can drag new assemblies into that top level. So I'm going to choose from the tree here, the top level and just drag that in. Or you can click here and just drag components from the window, but sometimes you'll have a little bit more of an issue if you try to click and drag from a component level into an assembly. And generally it's better to choose from over here and drag it in. And notice I brought in only a…
