- [Instructor] Before we go any further, I want to point out to you what the difference is between Simulation Express, Simulation Standard, Professional, and Premium. And you've got a whole bunch of different packages here, all with a bunch of different features, so I want to get that all sorted out right from the beginning so you know what you can and cannot do. Actually, Simulation Express is not even listed, so I'm going to go over that one and just talk about it, but if you click on these down here, you can see that the standard package kind of stops here, and so whenever you're doing something above that, like advanced contacts or connectors, event-based simulation, frequency simulation, buckling or collapsing structures, structural thermal simulation, drop test, pressure vessels. Now, any of these things here are a little bit more complicated. Dynamic simulation, non linear, any of those things are going to be in those more advanced packages of SolidWorks Simulation. Now, Simulation Express, the biggest limitation there is generally it only allows you to work on one individual part, you can't use it on assemblies. And the fixtures and the constraints and the forces you comply are very straightforward and simple. You can only fix efface inside of Simulation Express, you have a couple options applying forces to it, but you can think of Simulation Express as just really the most basic way to analyze a static model of a part with some very basic constraints, and some very basic forces, and that's what we're going to be covering. But, if you learned Simulation Express, then it's pretty easy to pick up the full version of Simulation and give yourself a little bit more power, and if you need an even more power, you can obviously jump into these packages here, Simulation Professional, or even Premium, to get those more advanced topics and just build on your skills inside of Simulation. So, there's four different packages out there, and we're getting started with Simulation Express, but like I said, you're going to learn this, and it easily translates to any of the more advanced packages.
