- [Voiceover] In this video, we're going to take a look at performing a backup of a SQL Server database. We'll use the Adventure Works sample database that we've installed. Right clicking and choosing Tasks from the Pop Up menu, we find the backup option. So, when we click Backup, the Backup dialog box opens and provides us with the options that we can specify for this backup. The database we're going to back up is automatically selected. It's Adventure Works 2014. We can see the recovery model is simple. It's grayed out and we can't change it because it's based on the type of backup that was made previously. The backup we'll choose in this case is a full backup. We could be choosing a copy-only backup, but in this case we want to make sure that we have a good solid foundation and that we specify a backup destination where we can restore it from later.
