Configure backup automation
- [Instructor] Backups and other routine maintenance tasks can be setup to run automatically. This not only takes the burden off of the administrators to remember to create the backup, it allows the backups to be run during a specific time, usually at night when the load of a server would be low. To automate the backup we'll create a maitenence plan and we can find that in the object explorer and we'll come down to the management folder and expand that open and we'll find a maitenence plan folder there. If I right-click on it and choose maitenence plan wizard I'm going to get this error message. Now if you see this, it just means that the SQL Server agent isn't started on your computer. Let's go ahead and press okay to dismiss this dialogue box. To start the agent you can either go in through the SQL Server configuration manager or right here inside of object explorer at the very bottom you'll find an entry for the SQL Sever agent.
