Differential backup and restore

- In this section, we're gonna look at doing a differential backup and a differential restore. So I'll right click on AdventureWorks, go to task and backup, and in the backup type, I'll select differential. I could add this to the same file, but I'm gonna choose to create a new file for the differential backup. So I'll remove the existing file and add a new one. And I'll call this one AdventureDif.bak. Click okay, and I shouldn't need to set anything on the media options or backup options. We can go with all the defaults for those. Click okay. And that ran very quickly. Hit okay, and we can look in the directory. And now we see AdventureWork differential backup. It's a much smaller file than the full backup because there's less information in it. Now for the restore. First, we'll need to restore from the full backup and then restore from the differential backup. So I'll right click on AdventureWorks and go to task. Go to restore, database.
