- [Narrator] When it comes to performance considerations for your SQL server instances, Microsoft provides tools that help you understand where things are working well and perhaps where things are not working so well. One of the tools that database administrators have become familiar with over the years is the Microsoft SQL server profiler. This is a graphical user interface tool that we can use for creating tracers to monitor an instance of the database engine or even analysis services. We can capture and save data to a file or we can even save it to a table within a database for later analysis. However, I do want to point out that Microsoft has indicated that the profiler will not be in future versions of SQL Server, so it is becoming a deprecated feature. It is still available as of now, but will likely be removed in a later version.
