What you should know before watching this course

- The first thing you should know before watching this course is that we're going to be showing Sapphire version 11 primarily inside of Adobe Premiere Pro. If you do not have Adobe Premiere Pro, you can actually download a free trial from Adobe's website. But we should make sure that we're as up-to-date as possible, so if you do have Adobe Premier Pro, one way of finding out is that Adobe Premier Pro CC will tell you the name, or the version that we are currently working with, which happens to be 2018. In a PC, you can find this information also under the Help menu, by going to About Premier Pro. On a Mac, this is going to be under the Adobe Premier Pro menu. So you can find out information about which version, Version 12, and for any reason, if you don't have the version, or the most up-to-date version, feel free to actually go and download the Creative Cloud app, and under the app section, you can go and find out if any of your software needs an update, such as Premiere Pro or After Effects. You can see I'm up to date, because it says, "Open" right next to that. If you do not have Adobe Premiere Pro and just want to follow along with this software, you can go to Adobe's website and there is a free trial for Premiere Pro. If I go to Creativity and Design, you'll see one of the featured products right now is Premiere Pro. And what we can do is head here, take a free trial, and simply by either signing up or signing in to Creative Cloud account, you can get that free trial to start working with Premiere Pro, and following along with our Sapphire class. Now, on top of Premiere Pro, you also need a version of Sapphire. And for that, you'd need to go to BorixFX.com. So you can follow me right now. I'm just going to do a search in my web browser here, just for BorixFX.com. I'm going to go to the main page, head down to Products, and we're going to go straight to Sapphire. Once we get to Sapphire, you can see that you can watch a video to find our more information about this current version, and what's included, or simply go and try a free trial. You'll see that all of the different hosts that are currently available are showing down here. And since we are going into Adobe products, we can choose Adobe Only. Also keep in mind, Sapphire's cross platform compatible. The workflows I will show in Premiere can easily be applied in Avid Media Composer and Resolve. If you're more familiar with one of those applications, you should have no trouble following along with this course inside of them.
