Target-based registration, part 1

- [Narrator] The goal of this video is to place scans, or register the point cloud data using either artificial or natural references. You'll be introduced to the concept of aligning constellations. Formerly known as bundle adjustment. And we'll also learn how to interpret weighted tensions that are generated in the target based registration report. At the end of this video, you will have a good understanding of how to use this registration method, and we'll be able to apply this to the exercise chapters in this course. First thing that I want to talk about a little bit when we're talking about targets is this idea of tension value. When we have a registration report that comes across, we have this idea of having an imaginary ball. Lets say it's red ball, and that represents the scan. And then we have these little green diamonds here, and that represents the targets. So in this first diagram, we have a tension value that's kind of evenly distributed amongst a room.
