Chaos

- It's not hard to create rhythmic LFO shapes in most synthesizers, but it's more difficult to create convincing random patterns. That's where Serum's chaos is helpful. So Serum's designer refers to this feature as Chaos LFOs and these LFOs are an addition to the conventional oscillators that we have here on the main oscillator page. And you can find them up here on the Global tab in the upper left hand corner. These algorithms generate seemingly random irregular patterns. So let's try them out. Let's initialize Serum, and let's choose a different wave table for oscillator A. So let's go into the selector here, and under Digital, let's choose the dirty saw option. And let's see, I'm going to set the wave table position about over here. (electronic sounds) And let's run this through the filter and let's set the filter to one of the phase options like phase 48. And let's assign Chaos to modulate the cutoff frequency. Now we can do this two ways, you can right click on the cutoff…
