- [Instructor] It's not the most exciting area to get into when you're first learning new software, but the global tab area in Serum is something that you're going to use and need to understand. So let's initialize Serum and let's check out the global tab area. So there's four sections here: Chaos, unison, preferences, and oscillator. The only one of the four that's actually global is the preferences area. The other three areas, the parameters are here because there wasn't enough room on the oscillator tab or oscillator page. So let's take a look at preferences. So the first couple here allow us to control some of the view options. For example, default waveform overview type if that's off it's 2D, if it's on it's 3D. That's referring here to the wave table area overview. So right now we're looking at 2D versus 3D. We can also hide the virtual piano here by default when you first load Serum. Then a number of the others here are really useful and important. For example, limit polyphony…
