Noise Oscillator

- [Instructor] One of the things that I constantly relearn as I work with audio is that small amounts of distortion and noise are often important components of a good sound. Some of Serum's wave tables contain that interesting harmonic material. But at other times, you're going to need to create it yourself. Serum has a noise oscillator that can help with that. So let's check out the noise oscillator by turning off oscillator A, and enabling the noise oscillator. Now we can choose a sound for the noise oscillator by clicking on the selector here, and in the pop-up menu, we can go in and choose one of the presets. Now, a bunch of these, you're going to notice, look like pink or white noise. So let's hear what they sound like, so, I'll choose the ARP pink. (short fuzzy audio) Let's turn up the level so we can hear that a little more.
