Preset #2: Saw wobble bass
- [Instructor] I was recently inspired by a bass sound that I heard on a recording that was sustained for parts of the song. In another parts, modulation was added to create a rhythmic wobble type effect. Creating a similar sound helps develop familiarity with how Serum's parameters, envelopes, and LFO's work. So, let's take a look at how Serum can be used to recreate the sound. So, let's start by going into our presets and into the User folder and into the Learning Serum Presets, and let's choose this 4_02 Saw Wobble Bass Start. If you want to just pull up the finished version of this, you can pull up just Saw Wobble Bass and follow along. So I've prepared most of this sound so that we can talk about it, and let's go through it an add the rest. So, Oscillator A is just using the default saw tooth wave shape, and we've added just a little bit of detuning to five units and voices.
