- [Voiceover] The MX record or mail transfer record is the workhorse of DNS that tells every mail transfer agent on the internet what host should be used to transfer mail for your domain. So, we're going to create one here so you can see an example of what that looks like. Click the plus button. Because it's a mail transfer record, we're assuming that the record actually is an unknown, right? We're saying "oh, well, it's not a host in particular "we're just creating an MX record type" for a priority of, I'm gonna say zero, this is like, this is the highest priority. We're gonna use this server mail.landonhotels.com because that's the mail server. But, really, this could be named anything, really. It could absolutely be named anything. It's just that it has to be the name of the actual mail server and that has to be mapped to an a-record that goes to the correct I.P. address for that mail server.
