Limit email spoofing with SPF in a TXT record
- [Voiceover] SPF stands for Sender Policy Framework. This unique content is placed into a text resource record in a DNS zone to specify the rules that should be followed to limit spammers from sending mail using your domain. If you format your SPF record correctly, when servers check with DNS about mail sending rules, they will find the SPF record and act accordingly. Of course, there are many different possible ways to mess up an SPF record. Because the syntax is very specific and fairly complex. When creating an SPF record, you'll generally either use a web tool created by someone who has programmatically set up the SPF line for you using settings that you've entered into a web form, or you'll study SPF construction and learn to write your SPF record yourself. There are several good resources on the internet to provide Sender Policy Framework automatic record generation.
