- [Voiceover] I want to talk to you about using the dig command in the terminal to try to find information about a domain, initiate a query, basically, but I want you to be able to initiate that query from a different DNS server than the one your system is currently configured to use. Okay, so you're currently configured to use whatever is in your network system preferences or your network control panel in Windows, right? If you go to DNS and you look here, that's the DNS server that you're using for all of your DNS resolution. Your resolver is going to that IP address, and it's asking all of these DNS questions. But, you can ask a question temporarily without actually changing that number in your network system preferences or in your network control panel by simply using terminal. So let's do that.
