- [Voiceover] We've talked about the root servers before, but I wanted to show you visually what we're talking about whenever we talk about the root servers. Now we've talked about this in terms of our hierarchy, and when we talk about root, we are of course talking about the ones right there at the top, the very, very top of our diagram. And so as we talk about these things, you might think, "Oh, well gee, the root server, "that might be one gigantic, really overpowered "crazy awesome server out there on the Internet "that's managed by IANA, "and it has all of those top level domains "sitting inside of it," and no. In fact there are a lot of 'em. And in fact there are a lot more than I could fit on this slide and still make readable. They are all out there with the same information. They are all basically replicating data amongst each other, and they're all managed by the organization that keeps track of this stuff, the IANA, and they're all resolvable by any DNS resolver, which is…
