- [Voiceover] From desktop support to the CTO, everyone who works in IT should have a fundamental undertanding of how DNS works. After all, the internet works because of DNS. If DNS on the internet fails, so does the information economy. For this reason, everyone who works in any capacity with technology should watch and understand this course. I've included a section on the fundamentals of DNS with helpful animations to help you visually understand some of the more difficult concepts. But this isn't just a course on theory. In several places in the course I show you specifically how to set up DNS on a pfSense router running Bind, on a Windows 2012 R2 server running DNS Manager, and on an OS10 server in the server app. I walk you through each of the widely used record types like A Records, MX Records, CNAMEs and SRVs, as well as SPF Records and more.
