- [Voiceover] Many DNS servers have the concept of dynamic updates where clients systems can give their names to the DNS server, and the DNS server will automatically add those host names into the DNS zone. But Windows does this in a slightly different way, and has some other cool things that have to do with automatic record creation, and I wanted to talk about them as a unique DNS feature set right in Windows. So in Windows Server 2012 R2, you can create DNS zone records, records within the zone, via Active Directory, completely automatically. You can also have these things created via client request automatically, and there's two different concerns to point out here. First is, if you create via Active Directory, the AD server has to be integrated with your DNS server, so you've gotta have both services turned on within the same domain, and the two servers have to know about each other.
