- [Instructor] Let's talk about versioning in SharePoint and how that relates to data management. As I talked about in another video, the SharePoint version history allows you to have just one single instance of a file. You not only don't need to save multiple copies with people's names or version two or final on them, you absolutely do not want to do that. Just as a by the way, for those of you on the fence about using the online version of the Microsoft Office tools, here's a little bit of information. Do you know that your file will be auto-saved every five seconds? That's right, no more walking away from your computer to come back and find out that the last six hours of work has mysteriously disappeared. Anyways, the SharePoint default for version control is that a new version is saved every time the document is edited and closed, and if you're using the online tools, there will also be a version saved every half…
