Male 1: A lot of times when it comes to audio interviews you are all ready to go. You've got everything tested. You've connected with the person. And you are excited to start the interview. Well, don't jump right in. Take a little bit of time to build some rapport with your subject before you get to the meat of the your interview. When it comes to building rapport, I often have a pre-interview chat. This could be done before the recording session, and give you a chance to actually connect on the phone or via a earlier Skype session, and check in with each other. For the same reasons that you take a look at pre-interviews as Amy discussed, you're going to want to get a chance to get to know this person, and make sure that you feel comfortable.
