Camerawork for shooting sports videos
- When it comes to camerawork for individual sports one of the simplest things you can do to improve your chances of getting the perfect shot when your athlete finally executes the perfect move is to clearly communicate with your subjects before and during shooting. For the best result make sure you talk through the shot and coordinate the run with them beforehand. For sports like BMX, surfing, or anything else where an athlete may start off faraway you should use some simple hand signals for go, hold, and ready so you can stay on the same page even from a 100 yards away. Nothing is more frustrating then watching an athlete finally pull off the perfect trick before you were ready with your camera. So as much as possible make sure you know the run and think through the best…
