Choosing a camera
One of the most fun and challenging video shooting environments is the water, and one of the most fun and challenging subjects to shoot on the water is water sports. And here in Cali, one water sport is king, and that's surfing. Surfing allows for some great cinematic opportunities to play with light, perspective, motion, and capture nature and action up close and personal, but there are also some unique obstacles to getting the best shot, and having them turn out good when shooting in and on the water. So, this week on Pro Video Tips, we're getting in the ocean with surf videographer, and photographer, Tony Cruz. And when I say we, I really mean Tony, cause it's way too cold for me to be getting in that water, but Tony's going to get some nice POV shots in the water. And I'm going to shoot them from the shore and will share some specific tips and approaches for capturing better video when shooting water sports.
