Female 1: Conducting pre-interviews is one of my favorite things to do, and I realize sometimes it's a bit of a luxury. But I'm going to tell you why I think it's so important to do. One of the main reasons I do pre-interviews is not just to get the background information, but it's to develop the relationship with the interviewee before we meet in the studio or on the set. Typically the pre-interview is done by phone, and one of the great things you can do with technology is you can record that call. But of course, you do need to remember to tell your subject that you're doing the recording, obviously for background purposes only. A lot of phone systems will even incorporate a transcription service as part of it, or I'll send an MP3 quickly to my transcriber to get it done. It's very, very helpful. It helps me get some sound bytes into that script. And gets me already started on my plan. The other thing I like to do, is I like to talk to background sources. Almost like you're writing…
