Controlling the look of a cookie

- Just as with many other effects in lighting, subtle adjustments to distance, angle, intensity, and the quality of light, can create very different looks and effects on camera. Once you have an understanding of these adjustments and what they each do, you can easily control the effects so you get sharp and well-defined shadows, or achieve a more subtle and abstract texture from the same cookie. Some of the key factors that will effect your cookie are the type of light. If you want a clear well-defined shadow, cookies work best with Fresnel lenses. They can also be used with open face lights, but the pattern won't be as clear and distinct. And, of course, if you are just going for some soft abstract texture, a soft light might also work for you. Another factor that affects your cookie, is the size of the light source.
